Medical Officers and allied junior staff provide treatment to all Armed Forces.
Account Officer, plan and forecast the budgetary
requirements of the Air Force. He also required analyzing the cost and fund
requirements; monitor the expenditure and unit funds. Account Officer not only
function as a financial controller but also diversify financial activities in
welfare and inter-personal relationships, which have great impact on the morale
of the Air Force.

Administrative
Officer
Administrative Officer plays a very vital role and is
responsible for personnel management and administration of the Air Force Bases.
To keep the all Air Bases operationally prepared is the key role. He also act
as a fighter controller, if situation arises.

Fighter
Controller
Fighter Controller is an important part of front line
Air Defence Systems and plays a key role to counter enemy threat from the air
by using modern electronic counter-offensive devices/equipment.

Logistics Officer is responsible for provisioning of
Aircraft spares, Mechanical Transport, Fuel, Armament and Explosives, flying

running of the organization and sustaining its manpower.

Meteorology Officers undertakes day-to-day scientific
work in the Air Force to forecast the prevailing weather conditions in the area
of operation by using latest sate-of-the art technology. All Air Force

Pilot Officers come under
The Flying Branch of Air Force. They fly Combat Aircrafts at speeds
surpassing the sound barrier and Transport Planes that carry men and
materials. Helicopter Pilots fly Combat and Transport Helicopters to provide
support to the moving Army. They also airdrop troops and supplies during
wartime as well as during natural calamities such as floods, earthquakes etc.
There is also the Navigator, who guides the Aircraft and Pilot to the target by
using the latest avionic equipment.
The field of Transport and Helicopter Pilots and Navigators
is open for potential women candidates.
Pilot officers go through a training of 3-year duration at National
Defense Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune) after completion of which they are
awarded a B.Sc. Degree from Pune University. Subsequently. The candidates
undergo one year extensive training as a Pilot Trainee at Flying Academy,
Dundigal.

Commercial Pilot License.
Technical Officers handle Engineering and Weapon systems of the Air Force. The Aeronautical Engineers (Mechanical) ensure the proper maintenance of all types of Aircrafts. Aeronautical Engineers (Electronics) handle Electronics and Communication Equipment in Aircraft. Opportunities are open for Women candidates to serve as a Technical Officer. Technical Officers have to undergo one year training period at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

Technical Officer
(University Entry Scheme)
Under this scheme the candidates are selected to join the
Aeronautical Engineering Branches (Similar to those specified in the direct
entry scheme). They must be aging between 18 to 24 years. Candidates granted
Permanent or Short Service Commission while they are in the Pre-final/final
year of their study in the Engineering Colleges. The selected candidates are
paid a stipend equivalent to the basic pay of Flying Officer for Permanent
Commission during their final Year’s study in the College. Candidates selected
for Short Service commission are also entitled to a stipend equivalent to half
of the basic pay of a Flying Officer.

Public Services exam for entry into the National Defence Academy is held every
6 months in various parts of India. If you fare well in this exam you are
called in for a Services Selection Board (SSB) interview which lasts 4 days.

Air Force (IAF) have to take the Pilot Aptitude Test. Once failed this test
